2013 Laws

Post by pls7809 »

The 2013 Laws are available on the BPELSG website (except SMA).

http://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/laws/index.shtml

Not many changes to the PLS Act, but here are the two main ones:

Section 8741 - EIT's can no longer have a waiver for the LSIT (or FS) exam before sitting for the PLS exam.

Section 8762 (b)(4) - Changes the language from "The establishment of one or more points..." to "The location, relocation, establishment, reestablishment, or retracement of one or more points or lines not shown on any subdivision map, official map, or record of survey, the positions of which are not ascertainable from an inspection of the subdivision map, official map, or record of survey."
(When Record of Surveys are required)

The other changes I saw were to change the title of the BLM Manual for the new 2009 Manual in a couple of other sections (8741 and 8773).

The law referred to (in 8741 and 8773) the 1973 Manual. It was changed to refer to the 2009 manual instead.
