I second this and am also sorry that out of the 71 views to this post, prior to mine, on a professional development forum, I wasn't beat to the sentiment.

So Cal State Specific Candidates, I wish you the best! I'll be there with you Monday in the trenches! Review. Review. Review this weekend, at least that's my plan.

The real 'test' is having to wait 4 months for the results!

varies. depends on how long the actuaries take to come up with a pass/fail score.
And this being the first year for testing at prometric..........

Check under your Christmas tree ;)

Intertesting, I just learned something, it is a good day....

"An actuary is a business professional who deals with the financial impact of risk and uncertainty. Actuaries provide expert assessments of financial security systems, with a focus on their complexity, their mathematics, and their mechanisms"

Not sure if Financial impact is part of the equation for this secenerio thru

maybe statistician might be a better word then.

Whatever they are called, they play with the numbers until they get something that they like.

I think we hijacked this tread so to continue hijacking

We need to protect our turf like other professions do. Create rules that even though they might seem like minor issues make doing it a job for Land Surveyors only.

Base our work on a percentage of the project same as RE agents, Title companies, etc.

Too often we look at projects in amount of time/labor involved when we should be evaluating the risk/liability factor and basing our fees on that.

psychometrician - you mean that's a real vocation title and not the name of a new "slasher" movie.

@ Dave - LOL

Maybe it's time we gave tests like the DMV. Develop 6 or 8 tests and have a set number to pass, like 70%.

IIRC that new law that requires CE's get a SWPP certification has a 70% pass score.

Then there is my opinion of the PC term "Distractors".
